Her Story

Adriana DiCorato – Lightshed Photography Honorary Scholarship Recipient

Adriana DiCorato is the recipient of the 2025 Lightshed Scholarship. She is from Lynnfield, and a senior at Lynnfield High School. Adriana has maintained a strong 3.77 weighted GPA while dedicating herself to meaningful volunteer work and extracurricular activities.

She volunteers at Connor’s Kindness, assembling self-care kits and toys for children battling cancer, and also volunteers at the Lynnfield Police Department. For the past three years, she has worked at Sono Noto’s, and participated on the Winter Track and Field Hockey teams.

Adriana’s story is one of hope and resilience. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer before Adriana was born and experienced a recurrence a year later. Despite being told she may never get pregnant, Adriana’s mother never gave up hope—and that hope was realized with Adriana’s birth. Through her mother, Adriana learned the importance of gratitude and the power of simple acts of kindness.

Each year, Adriana and her mother walk in Making Strides of Boston to honor the fight against breast cancer.

A teacher described Adriana as “one of the kindest students with whom I have had the pleasure to work, always with a smile on her face.”

Adriana plans to major in Communications at the University of Connecticut this fall, with the dream of one day working for a nonprofit dedicated to breast cancer awareness.
