Bridget Murray – Scholarship Recipient

Her Story

The recipient of the 2025 Teri Hall Memorial Scholarship is Bridget Murray of Lynnfield. A dedicated student at Lynnfield High School, Bridget excels in her AP and Honors classes.

Beyond academics, Bridget juggles multiple jobs, working as a camp counselor, an after-school program counselor for Lynnfield students ages 5 to 10, and a childcare provider for several families. She is an active member of the Habitat for Humanity Club, A Healthy Lynnfield Organization, and the Science and Art Club.

Bridget’s life has been deeply affected by cancer. Her father was first diagnosed with thyroid cancer, requiring a long recovery. A few years later, he battled renal cancer. He is now in remission, and has returned to work and his regular activities.

Through these challenges, Bridget witnessed firsthand the importance of a strong support system—both within her family and in the medical field. Her father’s recovery after thyroid cancer included physical therapy, and Bridget, too, has faced significant health challenges, undergoing four shoulder surgeries and extensive physical therapy. Inspired by the dedication of her father’s and her own physical therapists, Bridget has chosen to pursue a career in physical therapy.

Her teachers describe her as patient, kind, and deeply compassionate. Qualities that will serve her well in her future career.

This fall, Bridget will attend Framingham State University, where she will continue her journey toward making a difference in the lives of others.
