Donald Perlman, MD Memorial Scholarship

$5,000 Memorial Scholarship

The Donald Perlman, MD Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Perlman by his wife Cynthia Perlman and family. The $5,000 scholarship was awarded in 2024 to Kaitlyn Pugh, a high school student from Saugus High School. She plans on attending Endicott College.

Dr. Donald Perlman was a renowned board-certified general surgeon specializing in breast disease and tumors of the skin. Dr. Perlman practiced with Surgical Specialists of the North Shore following 48 years of private practice in Lynn. Dr. Perlman served as both Associate Chief and Chief of Surgery for Lynn Hospital, and as Clinical Instructor for Mass General Hospital surgical residents at Lynn and Union Hospitals. Among his many accolades, Dr. Perlman was North Shore Medical Center’s Physician of the Year in 2000. Early in his career, he served as a surgeon for the United States Army and was awarded an American Cancer Society Fellowship.
