Jayden LeBlanc – $2,000 Scholarship Recipient

His Story

Jayden is from Lynn and attends Lynn Vocational Technical Institute.

Jayden played 4 years of varsity hockey for the Lynn Jets, with 2 years as team captain and received the Greater Boston All Star Hockey award. He also played Varsity Lacrosse and was team captain. Additionally, Jayden is a Wood Shop teacher’s assistant, volunteers at ALL Care Hospice and Lynn’s Youth Hockey Learn to Skate Program.

Jayden’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, and went through 18 months of extensive treatment of surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. He said that “cancer taught him to be grateful for those who love and support me, especially my mom, my biggest cheerleader.” His mother taught him that whatever life throws you, you need to stay positive and roll with the punches. And his mom, though not feeling well through treatment, attended every one of his hockey and lacrosse games.

His teacher said, “Jayden is an amazing and determined young man, who doesn’t let challenges or hard work stand in his way.”

Jayden will be attending Southern New Hampshire University, pursuing a career in Construction Management.
