His Story

Our Hope Begins Here Scholarship Recipient: Luke Sulzinsky

Luke Sulzinsky, a dedicated and driven student from Middleton, attends New England Academy in Beverly, where he holds an impressive 3.7 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Luke volunteers as a swim instructor with pre-K students and he is also active in the Boy Scouts, where he has logged many hours of community service—including constructing a wheelchair ramp for his town’s historical society. He is CPR certified, a budding filmmaker, and a talented musician and vocalist.

During the pandemic, Luke’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. After a year of treatment, she entered remission and has remained cancer-free. Witnessing his mother’s strength through this journey became a source of inspiration and resilience for Luke.

Fueled by creativity and passion, Luke plans to pursue a career in film. He already writes, produces, and edits his own short films and interviews, and composes music and performs both as a solo artist and with a band.

One of his teachers shared, “Luke has countless outstanding qualities, and I am confident that he will be a benefit to the world around him as he pursues his future goals.”

This fall, Luke will be attending Clark University, drawn by its strong Visual and Performing Arts program, where he will major in Film.

Luke humbly says he may not be the next Steven Spielberg—but here at Boston North Cancer Association, we see a rising star in the making.
