The Association is solely funded through private contributions and bequests.
Each gift may be tax-deductible and you will receive an acknowledgement for your donation.
Memorial Giving
One of the most meaningful ways to support those impacted by cancer is by designating BNCA for memorial gifts. This can be done through a gift in lieu of flowers when someone passes away. In this way, we can continue our mission to support cancer treatment, prevention, education and care for residents north of Boston while simultaneously memorializing a departed loved one. We are here to assist with appropriate wording, such as “In remembrance of (deceased individual’s name) life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to Boston North Cancer Association, Inc.” and donation envelopes, should they be needed.
Tribute Giving
Throughout the year, we all celebrate special occasions and mark milestones — birthdays, anniversaries, bridal showers, weddings, etc. Please consider asking family and friends to honor you, a loved one or colleague with a donation to BNCA in lieu of gifts.
Honorary Giving
Make a donation to celebrate a loved one’s survivorship, a special occasion or simply to recognize their courage in fighting cancer. Upon making an ‘In Honor’ donation, the person or family indicated receives a personalized tribute card notifying them of your thoughtful gift, without revealing the amount. Or you can choose to have the card sent to you.
This scholarship was established through a generous donation of stock donated by the family of Teri Hall. The $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a north of Boston high school student affected by cancer.
The Donald Perlman, MD Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Perlman by his wife Cynthia Perlman and family. The $5,000 scholarship was awarded in 2024 to Kaitlyn Pugh, a high school student from Saugus High School. She plans on attending Endicott College.
The Debbie Plunkett Memorial Scholarship was established by the Plunkett Family and Friends. Two $1,750 were awarded in 2024. The first to Giselle Vides Perlera, a high school student from Lynn Vocational Technical Institute and to Camilo Cartagena from Lynn Classical High School.
